What is Alpine Fan Fest?
Alpine Fan Fest is a new, daylong family-oriented event for the Alpine community. It’s a day to celebrate baseball, the Alpine community of players, families and volunteers and to help raise money for Alpine Little League. Events for the day include:
- Alpine’s annual Hit-A-Thon for all divisions of baseball and softball
- Carnival games, dunk tank, bounce house, and other fun activities
- Food and ice cream trucks
- New marquee competitions for Majors baseball and softball players to compete in and the whole community to support:
- Home Run Derby
- Golden Arm (throwing accuracy)
- Golden Spikes (base running)
We will be announcing more details as the event (April 27th at La Entrada) gets closer including what time each team will bat and when you should turn up to watch our new marquee competitions.
Why is this event so important?
In addition to celebrating our players, families, and community, Alpine Little League is an entirely volunteer-run organization and registration fees and sponsorships do not cover the league’s operating expenses for each year. So we rely on community donations to operate the league successfully.
The annual Hit-A-Thon is our only annual fundraiser, and allows us to keep registration fees low, and helps pay for things like:
- Field maintenance
- Umpires
- Player & coach development (batting time, special training sessions)
- Safety measures
- Operations & Insurance
- Scholarships
Our goal for this year's fundraiser is $50,000.
How Fundraising Works
We challenge players to reach out to their friends and family for pledges to help support our league.
On Sunday, April 27th, as part of our Fan Fest day, each player will get the opportunity to participate in our annual Hit-A-thon by hitting hit 5 pitches … FAR … to raise money and earn prizes based on individual and team fundraising levels!
While we acknowledge a per foot donation makes sense given this is an “a-thon," flat donations are far preferred to enable better tracking of progress toward our goal and simplify the event logistics.
Our primary goal is 100% participation from each team, which means each player receives at least one donation and participates in the hit-a-thon event. The goal for each player is to raise at least $250 but every donation counts – no donation is too small.
Alpine Little League is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (Tax ID # 94-3105375) so your donation may be tax deductible. Also, many companies offer a “company match” to your donations so please explore whether your employer may match your contribution.
