Alpine / West Menlo Little League has served the families of Menlo Park, Woodside, and Portola Valley for more than a half-century. Our mission is to be an outstanding community organization that creates a culture where kids of all abilities love playing
T Ball is a co-ed league designed to introduce the player to the sport of baseball. Players hit off a tee so they can focus on their hitting skills - there is no pitching involved in this division. In addition, there are no "outs" in T-Ball, and scores are not kept. Every player has a turn at bat in each inning, and every player plays the whole game. Where possible, first-year players will be placed on teams with other first-year players and second-year players will be on teams with other second-year players.
T Ball practices and games are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays for an hour on each day. We'll have practices scheduled for the first few weeks and then games start with no practices scheduled. Wednesday practices/games typically start at 5:30 pm. Saturday practices/games are typically scheduled between 9am - 12pm. Season starts in late March and usually ends before Memorial Day weekend for a rough total of 14 games.
Please consider signing up to coach a T-Ball team this season. Sadly, if we have more teams than coaches, we will not be able to offer a program for teams without coaches.
We live outside of the Alpine/West Menlo league boundaries, but my child goes to school within the boundaries. Can my child play in your league?
I have two children playing in this division. Can they be placed on the same team?
Yes. Siblings registering before the deadline are given first priority for same team placement. Just be sure to notify the commissioner of their relationship at the time of your online registration.
Are we allowed to request team placements (playing on the same team with a friend), and if so, how?
Yes. There is an opportunity to make a friend request during registration.
How and when are teams formed?
Teams are formed after the T Ball registration closes. At that point we know how many players have signed up, and thus how many teams to create. Every effort will be made to form teams according to players' schools.
How will I know what team my child is on?
Once all the teams have been formed, team coaches will be notified of their rosters. At that time, coaches will notify their players either by phone or email within 48 hours of receiving their rosters.
Where are games played? I can’t find a game schedule or any field assignments.
A game schedule with field assignments can not be made until after the registration closes. Until then, we do not know how many teams to create and thus what the field requirements are. As soon as it becomes available, you will be notified of it by your team coach. Team assignments are usually completed in early March.
What equipment does my child need?
Your child needs to have his own glove, Little League approved batting helmet and bat. Cleats (rubber only) are not required but may be used. The league will provide a tee, balls, and a uniform shirt, and cap.
What days are games played?
Games are typically held on Wednesday at 5:30 pm and Saturday mornings.
When does the season start?
The season typically begins in March. Check the calendar for the specific day for your division.
